Guidelines and Standards for Satellite TV Dishes

Dish Locations:

Dishes must be located in such a way as to minimize their exposure to front, side or curb of the property. Every measure must be taken to ensure that under any circumstances a dish cannot be seen from the front of the property including the porch of a property across the street.

Dish Color:

The association requires that dishes be gray or neutral in color. If a choice is available, the installer should attempt to choose the color that blends well with the location where the dish will be mounted.

Warning:

Satellite dishes are subject to "wind load" in storms so care must be taken in their placement with regard to secure mounting. A dish simply attached to the plywood in a roof could damage the rood should the dish become dislodged.

Installation Locations:

Back of house-

Positioned so that the dish is above the rain gutter on the back of the house with the signal cable following the downspout until such point as it enters the house or can cross the back of the house below the basement slider. Signal Cable shall be the closest match to the color to the back of the house.

On the roof-

Some properties will require that the dish look toward the front or side of the house in order to see the satellite. In those cases, roof mounting will be necessary. Dishes can only be mounted on the back half of the roof as close to the lowest portion of the rear rood as possible and closest to the next house in the group that helps hide the dish from view. Again, the cable should be a color that blends well.

The mounting shall be anchored on the roof using 2 inch or better screws and shall be oriented in such a way that as many screws as possible penetrate the roof beams, tar or other roof sealer shall be used on the mounting screws to protect the homeowner’s roof from water damage.
